No matter what you need humidity control for, if your dehumidifier suddenly breaks down, it will have a major impact on your business.  

A regular servicing agreement and/or refurbishment both go a long way to prevent an unexpected breakdown. Having a system that’s more reliable to begin with helps a lot too, but sometimes older machines or one you use a lot can develop a fault without much warning.

What causes a Dehumidifier Breakdown? 

There are a number of reasons why your industrial dehumidifier may let you down.  

The first is a lack of servicing. Even our highest quality machines aren’t indestructible, over time parts will wear out and need replacing. Regular servicing fixes this, as our experts will look over your machine and spot any potential faults before they cause a breakdown. Then we’ll arrange the necessary repairs, including ordering any parts you may need, and either we or your maintenance team can get to work straight away.  

As you can imagine, the more you use your machine, the more likely a breakdown will be. If you’re under a lot of pressure to increase your output, your machines may struggle to keep up with the higher demands. You might also rely on your systems more on a seasonable basis. Like any member of your team, push your machines too hard and you risk breaking them.  

Our systems are always scalable, meaning they’ll work well regardless of your business’ growth, but there will come a time when they need an upgrade to keep up.  

Lastly, the age of your machines can be durability factor. Our dehumidifiers can be fully operational for nearly a century in some cases, but only if their parts are kept in good condition and replaced when they start to wear.  

Dehumidifier Breakdown Coverage 

If a breakdown does happen, our priority is to minimise any productivity loss and downtime. As soon as you notify us, we will organise for a DEHUM engineer to call your team free of charge and discuss the problem. In some instances, your on-site team may be able to fix the fault without the need for an engineer visit, and it’s always important to know what the issue is before our engineers do arrive.  

No matter what caused the breakdown, if you need our help an engineer will be with you within 48 hours, guaranteed, if you have a service agreement with us. If your machine is from a different provider, or you aren’t covered, it may take longer to arrange a visit and organise the right parts and equipment, but we’ll always be as quick as possible. 

Unlike other dehumidifier providers, we go a few steps further to prevent breakdowns.  

Dehumidifier Breakdown Prevention 

When we install a new dehumidifier system for your business, we’ll also advise which critical spares you should order to be kept on site. Investing in certain spare parts will minimise downtime in the event of a breakdown, as the more common parts required by our engineers will be on hand. 

In the event of a breakdown, we can also offer on-site training to your team to minimise downtime and prevent breakdowns from reoccurring. This will include how to: 

• Change filters 

• Reset the machines 

• Spot common faults 

The importance of the latter can’t be understated. Very rarely does a dehumidifier break without some warning; noticing a drop in performance or odd noise can be the difference between your production continuing with only a minor interruption or shutting down for days.
